DirectTrust: Enabling the Future of Trust in Healthcare

DirectTrust is looking to improve the usability of the Direct standard for use cases such as closed-loop referrals and ADT notifications to drive health data interoperability, according to this recent EHR Intelligence article.

The article also highlights how more than 300,000 healthcare organizations have access to Direct – making it the most ubiquitous interoperability data standard.  Direct is a secure communication transport system that connects health IT systems over the open internet.

During the last quarter of 2023, healthcare organizations sent and received over 235 million messages through the DirectTrust network.

The organization also recently announced the theme of its DirectTrust's 2024 Annual Conference, which is “The Future of Trust in Health.”

The event will bring together a diverse group of health and health technology leaders, along with passionate members of the communities they serve, for timely conversations aimed at constructively bridging the tension of usability, privacy, security, identity, and collaboration for a trustworthy health ecosystem.

In March 2023, RosettaHealth announced that it had achieved full accreditation with the DirectTrust Privacy & Security program from DirectTrust. This accreditation reinforces our long-term commitment to security and privacy, which supports our vision of breaking down all health data exchange barriers.

Throughout the past several years, we have done podcast interviews with DirectTrust executives, such as this one with Scott Stuewe, President and CEO; and this interview with Kathryn Ayers Wickenhauser, Director of Communications.

DirectTrust will continue to be a vital organization that is dedicated to not only addressing the challenges of today, but also anticipating the needs of tomorrow's health ecosystem.
